America Report is committed to accuracy, fairness and transparency. When we discover that published information is incorrect or materially misleading, we correct it promptly and clearly.
Reporting an Error
Readers, sources and subjects of our reporting are encouraged to alert us to possible errors. Correction requests should be sent to:

- The reason a correction is necessary
- Supporting documents, links or other evidence, when available
Every credible correction request will be reviewed by the editorial team. Submitting a request does not automatically mean that a correction will be issued.
How Corrections Are Reviewed
America Report examines the original reporting, source material and any new evidence provided. We may contact the person submitting the request, the article’s author or other relevant sources for additional information.
Corrections are based on verifiable facts. We do not alter accurate reporting solely because a person or organization disagrees with its conclusions, framing or inclusion in a story.
Corrections and Clarifications
When a factual error materially affects an article, America Report will correct the text and add a visible correction note explaining what was changed.
When information is accurate but requires additional context, we may publish a clarification. Clarifications are intended to improve understanding without suggesting that the original reporting was necessarily incorrect.
Correction and clarification notes will normally include the date of the change.
Updates
Developing stories may be updated as new information becomes available. Updates that add new facts without correcting an error may be identified through an updated publication time or an editor’s note.
Minor changes involving spelling, grammar, punctuation or formatting may be made without a correction note when they do not alter the article’s meaning.
Headlines, Images and Social Media
Errors in headlines, captions, photographs, graphics, videos and social-media posts are corrected according to the same standards as errors in article text.
When materially incorrect information has been distributed on social media, America Report may publish a corrected post or otherwise make the correction visible to its audience.
Retractions
America Report may retract an article when its central findings cannot be supported, when the reporting is fundamentally unreliable or when publication created a serious legal or ethical problem that cannot be resolved through a correction.
A retracted article will normally remain accessible with a prominent notice explaining why it was withdrawn, unless legal, privacy or safety considerations require removal.
Editorial Responsibility
The final decision on whether and how to correct, clarify, update or retract content rests with the America Report editorial team.
