A resurfaced military video is again putting unexplained aerial encounters at the center of public debate. The recording, now widely discussed under the label Reaper UAP, was captured in 2012 by a U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone during an operation over the Persian Gulf. Although the footage has existed for years, investigators say it never received full public attention until now.
The video shows three luminous objects appearing in the drone’s sensor view. At first, the lights seem ambiguous. They could belong to a single craft or represent multiple objects flying close together. However, as the footage continues, the separation between them becomes clearer, suggesting three distinct orbs moving in coordination.
Military analysts familiar with the clip point out that the drone maintains focus on the objects for more than a minute. That sustained tracking alone is unusual. Reaper drones are programmed to prioritize mission targets, yet the sensor operator keeps the unidentified objects centered in frame, following their movements closely.

As the video progresses, the objects appear to move up and down while maintaining formation. At one point, one orb seems to pass between the other two, indicating controlled and deliberate maneuvering. The motion does not resemble drifting debris, atmospheric effects, or known aircraft behavior.
Even more striking is what cannot be seen. There are no visible wings, rotors, exhaust trails, or heat signatures that would clearly explain propulsion. According to analysts, nothing in the footage matches standard U.S. or allied drone technology from that period. The lack of identifiable flight characteristics remains one of the most puzzling elements.
The discovery of the footage was credited to independent investigators in the United States, including Jeremy Corbell, who has previously released U.S. military videos involving unexplained objects. The clip was presented during a recent online broadcast, where researchers emphasized that the footage came from a classified military platform rather than a civilian source.
The fact that the encounter occurred over the Persian Gulf adds another layer of complexity. The region is heavily monitored due to its strategic importance, dense military presence, and frequent aerial patrols. Any unidentified object operating there would almost certainly attract attention from multiple surveillance systems.

Researchers note that this incident fits a broader pattern seen in U.S. defense reporting. Over the past two decades, many unexplained aerial sightings have taken place near sensitive military zones, including naval strike groups, air bases, and nuclear-related infrastructure. The Persian Gulf encounter appears consistent with those trends.
Pentagon officials have acknowledged in recent years that some aerial encounters remain unresolved despite detailed analysis. While authorities have repeatedly stated that no evidence confirms extraterrestrial origins, they have also admitted that a portion of cases cannot be attributed to foreign adversaries, sensor glitches, or natural phenomena with certainty.
In this case, officials have not released a formal explanation tied specifically to the 2012 incident. That absence of clarification continues to fuel speculation, particularly as the footage shows prolonged observation rather than a fleeting anomaly.
The renewed attention comes amid a broader shift in how the U.S. government addresses such reports. The term “UFO” has largely been replaced with “unidentified aerial phenomena,” reflecting an effort to remove stigma and encourage reporting by military personnel. Investigators argue that this cultural change has led to more serious analysis of historical cases.
Still, the core mystery remains. If the objects represent advanced foreign technology, their apparent capabilities would raise serious national security concerns. If they are neither foreign nor domestic systems, the implications are far more difficult to define.
More than a decade after it was recorded, the footage continues to resist simple explanation. Despite advances in surveillance and data analysis, the Reaper UAP encounter remains unresolved, standing as a reminder that even in tightly monitored airspace, some phenomena defy easy answers.
